Three Ways "Stronger" Means Different Things

When buyers ask for a stronger glue stick, they usually mean one of three things: more initial grab (high tack), maximum holding power (super tack), or performance under heat (high temperature). Picking the wrong one wastes material and still fails the job.

High Tack: Instant Grab on Contact

High-tack sticks offer aggressive initial adhesion the moment they touch the substrate. They are best for bonding porous or uneven surfaces such as foams, fabrics, and rough wood, where you need the parts to hold position immediately without clamping.

Super Tack: Maximum Bond Strength

Super-tack formulations push both initial grab and final strength higher, suited to structural or load-bearing bonds in product assembly. Use super tack when the joint must survive shipping, handling, and long-term service.

High Temperature: Bonds That Survive Heat

Standard EVA sticks soften around 80°C. For metal, under-hood parts, or hot environments, choose high-temperature sticks (often polyolefin or specialized EVA) that hold above 120°C. These resist creep and bond failure when the application gets hot.
