Start with an approval sample, not a color name
For importers assembling a decorative glue-stick range, the purchasing question is more specific than “Do you have red and gold?” Define what the buyer should receive: the individual shades, solid or glitter appearance, stick dimensions and intended decorative use.

1. Define each shade and finish separately
Send a reference photograph to explain the direction, then request a physical sample for approval. Agree how both sides will compare it rather than using the photograph as the only acceptance standard.
For each requested variant, record:
- Your shade reference and the supplier's sample identifier.
- Whether the desired appearance is solid color or glitter.
- The intended appearance of the cooled glue bead on the actual substrate.
- The comparison lighting and background agreed for sample review.
- Who approves the sample and where the retained reference will be stored.
For glitter variants, also describe the desired visible effect and ask what can actually be supplied. Do not assume that the general Color Stick sheet establishes the composition, glitter loading or performance of every finish.
2. Confirm glue-gun fit for the requested assortment
The product page lists 7 × 300 mm and 11 × 300 mm reference sizes. Confirm the dimensions, tolerances and available lengths for the selected variants before approving a purchase specification.
Record the intended glue-gun model and its specified feed size. During a sample trial, check feeding and dispensing using the proposed stick and equipment combination. A diameter label alone is not a complete equipment-compatibility approval.
The Color Stick sheet gives 140°C as a recommended application-temperature reference. Ask technical staff whether that reference applies to the selected variant and proposed equipment. Do not treat it as a universal glue-gun setting, a low-temperature safety claim or permission to operate outside the equipment instructions.
3. Review a finished decorative bond
Approve the appearance of the applied adhesive as well as the unused stick. Give the supplier the actual substrate description, including any coating or surface treatment, and explain whether the glue bead is part of the visible design or should remain unobtrusive.
Use representative pieces to review:
- Cooled bead appearance against the intended surface.
- Placement and visible residue after normal assembly.
- Bond behavior under the handling expected for the finished item.
- Any appearance or bond checks your buyer requires after storage or transport.
Set acceptance criteria before comparing samples. Record the adhesive sample, substrate, equipment and process conditions for each result. These are proposed trial fields; no bond strength, durability or transport result is promised here.
4. Put the assortment in writing
An approved individual sample does not define the contents of a mixed pack. Send the proposed number of shades, quantity of each shade, stick dimensions, inner-pack arrangement and labeling requirements for review.
Ask the supplier to confirm which items are available and which require further assessment. Agree how substitutions or changes will be handled before an order is finalized. Packaging availability, price, minimum order quantity and lead time must be confirmed for the actual request; this checklist does not establish them.
5. Review documents for the selected variant and destination
The current product record does not attach a product-specific public report for the colored range. Ask which documents are available for the precise variant and intended market, and have the responsible reviewer check their scope.
The sheet's “non-toxic” wording should not be used on its own to make toy-safety, child-use, food-contact or finished-product compliance claims. Listing toys as an intended application is not equivalent to certifying the finished toy. Identify the intended use and buyer requirements before deciding what additional evidence is needed.
A short sample request you can send
“We are reviewing colored glue sticks for [decorative application] in [destination]. Our substrates are [materials/coatings], and the intended glue gun is [model/feed size]. We need [solid/glitter] variants referenced by [shade IDs], with [dimensions] and a proposed assortment of [quantities per shade]. Please confirm available samples, applicable technical documents and the details needed for a trial.”
Include an estimated purchasing quantity and your acceptance criteria. Those details help define the review; they do not create a confirmed supply commitment.
