Start with the applicator's accepted format
When you request a 43mm hot melt glue stick, include the equipment make and model. Suppliers may describe this large format as a stick, slug or block. The name alone does not specify every dimension or establish that the product will feed through your machine.
For furniture edgebanding, Jiajian lists two candidates: K-3801 and K-3205. Both require an equipment and application review. Neither is presented as a universal replacement for all products sold under the label "43mm."
Read the complete size entry
The K-3801 technical data sheet, revised February 15, 2025, lists a size of 43mm ± 2mm. The K-3205 sheet, revised March 20, 2025, lists 43mm ± 2mm × 43mm ± 2mm. These are document references for the individual models, not a dimensional standard for the whole adhesive market.
The K-3801 size entry does not state a second dimension. The K-3205 entry contains two dimensions but does not label their orientation in that row. Ask for a dimensioned drawing or a measured sample with the orientation identified. Do not fill in an unstated length from a photograph or transfer one model's dimensions to the other.
Before a purchase order, agree which dimensions will be checked, the acceptance limits and the measurement method. The supplier's sheet tolerance and the machine's permitted feed range need to be reviewed together; the same nominal diameter does not resolve that review.
Send an equipment evidence pack
A useful sample request includes:
- The machine brand, exact model and the manual section describing adhesive feed requirements.
- A drawing or measurements of the currently approved adhesive, with each dimension identified.
- Photographs of the adhesive and feed arrangement taken under the equipment owner's safe inspection procedure.
- The permitted adhesive form and the machine's temperature limits.
- The current adhesive reference, board and edge material, operating conditions and reason for changing.
If the manual does not identify a permitted format, have the equipment supplier resolve that gap before trying a different slug. Do not force a sample into a feed system or use a trial to bypass the machine's operating instructions.
Separate feed acceptance from bonding approval
A sample that enters the machine has passed only part of the review. Define two separate decisions: whether the adhesive format is accepted by the equipment, and whether it produces an acceptable result on the intended board and edge material.
Both model sheets list a recommended application-temperature range of 180–200°C. This reference does not override machine limits or establish a setting for every substrate. Have the responsible technical team agree the trial conditions before applying adhesive.
For the feed review, record the model, batch reference, measured dimensions and equipment approval. For the application review, record the actual materials, process conditions, inspection method and result. Keep the accepted sample and its record together so a repeat order can be checked against the same requirement.
Put the agreed requirement in the order
Use the exact adhesive model and agreed dimensional specification in the order. Include the drawing or sample reference where applicable. A request that says only "43mm glue, same as before" leaves the important acceptance information outside the purchasing record.
This is a recommended buyer workflow. It does not claim a particular machine approval, tolerance beyond the cited sheet, production capacity or delivery commitment.
Frequently asked questions
Does 43mm identify the complete slug size?
No. Read the complete size entry for the selected model and confirm any missing dimension or orientation with the supplier. Then compare it with the equipment requirement.
Can I approve a replacement from a product photograph?
A photograph helps identify the format, but it does not establish dimensions, tolerance or machine compatibility. Use documented requirements and a reviewed sample.
Which model should I request first?
Send the machine and application details first. The K-3801 versus K-3205 comparison explains which technical-data differences need further review.
Request a 43mm equipment review
Open the K-3801 product review or the K-3205 product review. Include the machine model, accepted dimensions, board and edge material, destination and estimated monthly quantity. These details support sample selection; the final match requires your application trial.
