43mm Hot Melt Glue Slugs for Edgebanding: What to Include in Your RFQ

2026-10-17 JIAJIAN 43mm Buyer Guides

A diameter is not a complete adhesive specification

A request for “43mm hot melt glue” confirms a feed format, but it does not identify the right adhesive chemistry or prove that the product will run in a particular edgebander. Jiajian currently presents two documented 43mm routes: K-3205 polyolefin glue slugs and K-3801 EVA glue slugs. They are candidates for review, not interchangeable universal products.

1. Name the machine and feed system

Send the edgebander manufacturer and model, the permitted adhesive format and any feed dimensions stated by the machine supplier. Note whether the current adhesive feeds cleanly and describe bridging, slipping, incomplete melting or other handling problems. A nominal diameter alone does not confirm machine fit.

2. Identify both bonding surfaces

Describe the panel substrate and edge material separately. Include surface treatments, primers or coatings when known. MDF, particleboard, solid wood, PVC, ABS, veneer and other surfaces should not be grouped into one unqualified request.

3. Record the operating window

Provide the current application temperature, line speed, glue quantity and workshop conditions. The K-3205 and K-3801 product records contain model-specific reference values, but production settings still need validation on the buyer's machine and materials.

4. Explain the present problem

Useful observations include poor wetting, open seams, adhesive stringing, chipping during trimming, squeeze-out, feed interruption or bond failure after cooling. Photographs and retained samples help separate an adhesive-selection issue from a machine, surface or setup issue.

5. Define the trial and approval criteria

State the trial quantity and the checks your team will use before approving production supply. Evaluate feed stability, bond-line appearance, trimming, handling and the finished part under its expected conditions. A data sheet supports screening; it is not a customer-line test report.

6. Add the commercial information last

Include the destination, estimated monthly quantity and required packing or documentation. Price, order minimum and lead time should be confirmed only after the product route and specification are reviewed.

Frequently asked questions

Are all 43mm hot melt glue slugs interchangeable?

No. Diameter does not establish chemistry, melt behaviour, substrate compatibility or production performance.

Which route should I request first?

Send the machine, materials and operating conditions. K-3205 is the documented polyolefin route and K-3801 is the documented EVA route; the application information determines which candidate deserves a controlled trial.

Can Jiajian confirm suitability from an RFQ alone?

An RFQ can support a shortlist. Final suitability should be established through a controlled trial using the buyer's actual equipment and materials.
