K-3801 vs K-3205: Comparing Two 43mm Hot Melt Glue Slugs

2026-10-09 JIAJIAN 43mm Buyer Guides

Compare the two records before choosing a sample

If your edgebanding equipment accepts a 43mm adhesive format, K-3801 and K-3205 are two Jiajian product records to review. Their published positioning is EVA/synthetic resin for K-3801 and polyolefin for K-3205. Those labels identify the listed product types; they do not establish which will perform better on your line.

The comparison below uses the model-specific K-3801 sheet revised February 15, 2025, and K-3205 sheet revised March 20, 2025. It is a document comparison, not a head-to-head performance test. Confirm the current revision before approving an order.

The size entries should be checked against a drawing or measured sample with the dimensions identified. The timing entries retain the sheets' labels; they are not validated cycle times for your machine. The sheets do not provide a common finished-edgeband test that would turn this table into a performance ranking.

Do not rank viscosity without matching the test conditions

The viscosity figures were measured at different temperatures: 170°C for K-3801 and 180°C for K-3205. A lower printed number does not, by itself, establish a better flow result, easier application or lower adhesive consumption on the buyer's equipment.

If flow behavior is the deciding issue, ask the technical team for comparable data at agreed test conditions, or define a controlled application trial. Record what was actually compared. A claim that one candidate uses less adhesive needs measured consumption on the agreed process, not an inference from this table.

Keep softening point separate from the finished-product requirement

K-3205 has the higher reported softening point in these two sheets. That fact alone does not establish a service-temperature limit for an assembled panel or prove that an edge bond will survive a particular transport or storage condition.

Specify the finished-product conditions that matter to your order and agree how the assembled samples will be assessed. Do not convert either softening-point value into a heat-resistance guarantee or a machine operating instruction.

Use timing references to ask better process questions

The two sheets report the same opening-time range and different curing-time ranges. Neither sheet supplies enough test detail to conclude that one model will increase your line speed or remove a holding step.

Describe the interval from adhesive application to joining, the pressure or holding stage, and the point at which the workpiece is handled. Ask the technical reviewer to relate the sheet terminology to that sequence. Keep actual trial timings separate from the TDS reference values.

Choose the trial around the purchasing problem

Start with the requirement that triggered the search: equipment feed, a different board or edge material, a visible bond line, an observed failure or a new production process. Confirm machine fit before comparing application results.

Where both models remain candidates, use the same agreed acceptance criteria and keep each trial's materials and settings traceable. Record deviations instead of treating unlike runs as comparable. The 43mm adhesive changeover plan provides a way to document that decision.

Frequently asked questions

Is K-3205 automatically better because its softening point is higher?

No. The table reports a material reference. Suitability still depends on the machine, substrates, process and agreed finished-product tests.

Does the shared 180–200°C range make the products interchangeable?

No. A shared recommended temperature range does not establish identical dimensions, formulation, flow behavior or bond performance.

Do general material reports certify either model?

Not automatically. Request documents that identify the applicable model or formulation, scope and destination requirement. The linked product pages distinguish model TDS files from general material reports.

Send a focused comparison request

Use the K-3801 review form or K-3205 review form. Include your equipment, current adhesive, board and edge material, process conditions, required result and estimated monthly quantity. State which comparison needs evidence so the sample review can address the actual purchasing decision.
