Hot Melt Adhesive for Woodworking & Furniture Edgebanding

Furniture edgebanding is one of the most demanding hot melt applications. The adhesive must hold PVC, ABS or wood-veneer edge tape to panel edges through temperature swings, handling and years of use. Getting the formulation, temperature and open time right is what separates a clean line from a lifted edge.

What Decides the Right Adhesive

  • Edge material — PVC, ABS and wood veneer each interact differently with the melt
  • Board type — particleboard, MDF or plywood affect heat transfer
  • Machine speed — faster lines need shorter open time control
  • Temperature — must stay within equipment limits

The 43mm Polyolefin Option

For large-diameter industrial applicators, polyolefin hot melt sticks such as K-3205 are evaluated for furniture edgebanding:

  • Diameter: 43mm · Color: white
  • Softening point: 125±5°C · Operating temperature: 180–200°C
  • MOQ: 500kg · Lead time: 20–25 days

A compatibility review of your equipment and substrate is required before ordering. View 43mm sticks →

FAQ

What temperature is used for edgebanding hot melt?

Polyolefin edgebanding sticks such as K-3205 run at 180–200°C. Exact setpoint depends on your applicator and is confirmed during product review.

Can I use EVA sticks for edgebanding?

EVA grades are used in many woodworking bonds, but large-diameter industrial edgebanding often evaluates polyolefin for performance. Tell us your equipment to recommend the right form.

What is the MOQ for edgebanding adhesive?

For 43mm polyolefin such as K-3205, MOQ is 500kg with a 20–25 day lead time. Trial quantities can be discussed for sample evaluation.
